Police Officer Injured in High-Speed Chase in Tekirdağ
In a dramatic incident in Malkara, Tekirdağ, a police officer was injured while attempting to apprehend a driver who had failed to stop at a traffic control. The event unfolded in the early morning hours as police teams conducted a routine traffic check in the Ahievren neighborhood.
According to reports, the driver, identified as Enes A. (31), ignored the "stop" signal and drove into the police vehicle, actively fleeing the scene. Despite the collision, officer Recep B. initiated a pursuit, prompting gendarmerie teams to assist in tracking the suspected driver.
The chase lasted approximately five kilometers until Enes A. lost control of his jeep, leading to an overturning in a field. After the crash, he exited the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. Swiftly, additional gendarmerie and police units were deployed to the area, leading to a comprehensive search operation.
Ultimately, Enes A. was apprehended after being found hiding in a culvert nearby. Authorities discovered that he was wanted for various offenses.
Meanwhile, Officer Recep B. was transported to Tekirdağ’s Dr. İsmail Fehmi Cumalıoğlu City Hospital, where he is reported to be in good health following treatment for his injuries.
