Teknofest TRNC 2023: A Celebration of Innovation and Technology
Nicosia, TRNC – The 11th annual Teknofest has kicked off at the former Ercan Airport, turning the venue into a vibrant hub for technology enthusiasts. Spanning an impressive 100,000 square meters, the festival is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology in collaboration with the Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation).
Spectacular Opening Ceremony
The festival opened with breathtaking aerial performances by TUSAŞ’s T-129 ATAK attack helicopter and T-70 general-purpose helicopter, captivating the audience. The highlight of the opening was an extraordinary display where parachutists unfurled the flags of the Republic of Türkiye and Northern Cyprus, igniting enthusiasm among the attendees.
Competitive Spirit: 47,000 Participants
Teknofest TRNC features six technology competitions across 13 subcategories, attracting a staggering 47,000 competitors from 22 countries, including Türkiye. With a financial support of 3 million TL and prizes amounting to 2.5 million TL, young innovators have been given the chance to bring their ideas to life.
This year, the festival showcases 81 participating institutions, along with stands from 11 sponsors and 4 additional companies, along with a variety of dining options for visitors.
A Lineup of Advanced Technology
Attendees can look forward to demonstrations from a range of advanced vehicles, including the Bayraktar Akıncı, Bayraktar TB2, Hürkuş, Anka, Aksungur, Gendarmerie Steel Wings, and the iconic Turkish Stars and Solotürk.
Workshops and Exhibitions
The festival offers an array of workshops tailored for children aged 6 to 14, featuring activities like air vehicle exhibitions, planetarium film screenings, and interactive simulation experiences. The event also includes science shows, lectures, and more, making it a comprehensive educational experience for all ages.
Free Admission for All
Participation in Teknofest TRNC is completely free. Interested visitors need to register on the Teknofest website, with separate tickets required for each participant. Children under 7 can attend without registration. The festival operates daily from 09:00 to 19:00.

During the opening ceremony, Teknofest Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar remarked, "Teknofest is a revolution in self-confidence… a platform where young people can dream big." He expressed his confidence in the potential of youth to create groundbreaking works that could significantly impact the world.
