Cypriot Bicycle Races Set to Take Place in Three Different Groups
The Turkish Cypriot Bicycle Federation is gearing up to host the Cypriot Bicycle Races in three different groups on Sunday, April 6 at 07:30. The races will take place on the routes of “Nicosia-Güzelyurt, Güzelyurt-Lefke, Kalkanlı-Çamlıbel-Yılmazköy, Alayköy-İyehan”. It is important to note that some routes will be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic to ensure the safety of the participants.
According to information provided by the Police Press Officer, the first and second groups of bicycle races will kick off from Nicosia Atatürk Sports Complex. The first group will cover the Nicosia-Güzelyurt, Güzelyurt-Lefke routes before returning to the starting point through the Kalkanli-Camlibel-Yilmazköy and Alayköy-Idehan Ring Road. Meanwhile, the second group will follow the Nicosia-Güzelyurt main road to Güzelyurt Çemberi and then continue on the same route via the Alayköy-Sohan Ring Road, concluding at the Circle of Love.
The third group will compete in the two-way section of the Alayköy-İtehan Ring Road between the Circle of Love (Purple Circle) and the Circle of Ages.
During the races in the first and second groups, bicycle athletes will be accompanied by motor police escorts to ensure their safety. All intersections and circles along the route will be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic.
For the race in the third group, the section between Alayköy-Sohan Ring Road love circle (purple circle) and the circle of Agillar will be closed to vehicle traffic. Alternative routes will be provided for transportation in this area.
