Van Governorship Bans Demonstrations and Protests in the Province
The Van Governorship has issued a statement outlining a ban on various forms of demonstrations and protests within the province. The aim of this ban is to prevent actions and attacks that are deemed to directly violate the conditions set out in the Constitution and laws.
According to the statement, the prohibition is in place to protect the safety of citizens, prevent the plans of terrorist organizations, and safeguard fundamental rights and freedoms. Specifically, demonstration marches, open-air meetings, indoor meetings, press releases, sit-ins, tent marches, signature campaigns, leaflet distribution, and all forms of protest actions have been prohibited within the borders of Van province from May 16 to May 19.
Individuals and groups are also not allowed to participate in illegal actions and activities, whether individually or collectively, and are prohibited from using the city route to enter or exit the province during this time period. The statement emphasized that those who are likely to engage in illegal activities will not be permitted to enter the province or pass through it from other provinces.
The ban is in accordance with the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations and the Provincial Administration Law. The Van Governorship is urging residents to comply with these regulations in order to maintain peace and security within the province.
