Thailand Increases Visa Stay for Kazakh Citizens to 60 Days

Thailand Extends Visa-Free Travel to Kazakhstan and Other Countries

ASTANA—The Tourism Authority of Thailand has expanded the list of countries eligible for longer visa-free stays in Thailand, including Kazakhstan. Citizens of Kazakhstan and 92 other countries and territories can now enjoy visa-free travel to Thailand for up to 60 days, doubling the previous 30-day limit. Travelers can also extend their stay by an additional 30 days at local immigration offices.

In addition, Thailand has introduced the Destination Thai Visa (DTV) program, specifically designed for remote workers, digital nomads, freelancers, and participants in various activities such as Muay Thai courses, Thai cooking classes, sports training, medical treatments, seminars, and music festivals. The DTV also extends benefits to the spouses and dependent children of visa holders.

These new visa measures are part of Thailand’s strategy to boost its economy by attracting more international visitors, including those from Kazakhstan, and encouraging longer stays in the country.

During an official visit to Thailand in April, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu signed an agreement exempting national passport holders of both countries from visa requirements. Nurtleu also held discussions with leaders of major Thai companies in Bangkok to explore opportunities for investment cooperation, trade, and economic ties.

These developments highlight the growing relationship between Thailand and Kazakhstan, providing new opportunities for travelers and fostering closer ties between the two nations.
