The 58th Presidential Türkiye Cycling Tour Kicks Off

135 cyclists from 24 teams took part in the Selçuk-Manisa-İzmir leg of the Tour of Turkey 2023. The stage began at the entrance of the Ancient City of Ephesus, with protocol members including AK Party Izmir deputy Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Selçuk District Governor Oğuz Alp Çağlar, and Turkish Cycling Federation President Emin Müftüoğlu present.

The race covered a distance of 159.8 kilometers. Starting in Selçuk, the cyclists made their way to Manisa via İzmir’s Torbalı and Kemalpaşa districts. They then passed through the Sabuncubeli Tunnel and headed towards İzmir’s Bornova and Bayraklı districts. The stage concluded at Karşıyaka Pier.

The track for this stage of the race was mostly flat, but the cyclists encountered some climbs and descents in Torbalı Dağkızılca and Manisa Sabuncubeli areas.

The Tour of Turkey 2023 will conclude with the Istanbul-Sultanahmet stage on Sunday, October 15th.
