“The ‘Chair’ Method: A New Formula for Effective Ministry Sharing”

Six parties that are part of the Turkish Nation Alliance will be given at least one ministry each while the remaining ministries will be split between the Republican People’s Party (CHP) and the IYI Party, according to a statement made by Meral Akşener. The allocation of ministries will be based on a proportional share of the number of deputies and not necessarily be split between the CHP and the IYI Party. It has been noted that if a party sends 15-20 or more deputies to parliament, despite running under the CHP, it is expected to receive a minimum of two ministries. The total number of deputies elected will be calculated, and the ministries divided equally by the number of parliament members. The move has garnered mixed reactions from the staff members of the Nation Alliance.
