The ongoing pre-election debate in CHP and the mention of Mansur Yavaş

The debate within the Republican People’s Party (CHP) regarding their presidential candidate for the upcoming election continues, with Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş slowly gaining attention. Despite Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu already starting his pre-election trips as the CHP candidate, Yavaş has made it clear that he is still in the running for the candidacy.
In a recent statement, Yavaş emphasized that there is still plenty of time before the presidential election, stating that it is at least 2.5 to 3 years away. He expressed his commitment to serving the people of Ankara and gaining their trust, rather than focusing on the upcoming election.
During an iftar program in Beypazarı, Yavaş reiterated that his priority is Ankara, and he is not actively campaigning for a presidential election that has not been officially announced. However, he did not rule out the possibility of becoming a candidate in the future, stating that when the time comes, he will assess the situation and make a decision.
As the internal debate within the CHP continues, Mansur Yavaş’s slow but steady rise in attention and consideration for the presidential candidacy is causing speculation within the party. It remains to be seen how this debate will unfold in the coming months and years leading up to the election.
