The Republic Assembly General Assembly Convenes
The General Assembly of the Republic Assembly met at 20.00 under the leadership of President Zorlu Töre. During the meeting, UBP Deputy Kutlu Evren withdrew his candidacy, leading the National Unity Party to nominate Zorlu Töre for the Presidency of the Republic Assembly once again.
Before the voting process, Republican Turkish Party Deputy Tufan Erhürman emphasized the importance of leaving phones outside the voting area and ensuring that ballot papers are folded correctly. He also raised concerns about UBP Deputy Hasan Küçük’s social media posts and requested that he not serve as a clerk during the voting. Following Erhürman’s request, UBP Deputy Fırtına Karanfil was appointed as the clerk for the voting process.
The voting process began to elect not only the president but also vice presidents and secretaries.
