The Role of Sports Writers in Advancing Athletics
President Ersin Tatar recently attended the “Award Ceremony of the Successful of the Year” organized by the Cyprus Turkish Sports Writers Association (KTSYD). During the event, he emphasized the important role that sports writers play in the development of sports.
In his speech at the ceremony, President Tatar expressed his lifelong involvement in sports and the various positions he has held in the field. He also acknowledged the 41st anniversary of KTSYD and congratulated past association presidents for their contributions. President Tatar extended his gratitude to the current president and members for providing the association’s building in Nicosia.
Addressing the athletes present at the ceremony, President Tatar commended their dedication to training despite the challenges faced due to embargoes and isolation of Turkish Cypriots. He specially congratulated athlete Buse Savaşkan for qualifying for the Olympics and expressed his hope for the continued success of Turkish Cypriot athletes on the international stage.
President Tatar highlighted plans for improvements in school sports programs, sports institutions, and infrastructure investments to advance sports in the region. He emphasized the importance of collaborations with sports writers and the development of international relations to support young athletes in overcoming obstacles and participating in international sports competitions.
The President concluded by congratulating the recipients of awards at the ceremony and wished success to all athletes and sports enthusiasts for the upcoming year.
