The Young Doctor’s Heartbreak
27-year-old cardiology doctor Ahmet Şimsek tragically passed away due to a heart attack in Tokat. Dr. Şimsek, who was a graduate of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Medicine Department of Cardiology, was mourned by his colleagues, friends, and family.
The young doctor leaves behind a wife and two children, making his sudden death even more heartbreaking for those who knew him. A ceremony was held in his honor, attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Yılmaz, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mücahit Eğri, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Dr. Raşit Kılıç, University Hospital Chief Physician Dr. Erkan Gökçe, as well as other academics, administrative staff, and loved ones.
Dr. Ahmet Şimsek’s funeral procession took place in Tokat before his body was taken to his hometown of Kayseri for burial. His untimely passing serves as a reminder of the importance of taking care of one’s health, especially for those in high-stress professions like medicine.
