“Tigers” Criminal Organization Busted: 15 Arrested in Turkey Raid

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced a successful operation against the organized criminal group known as “Cell-12” in Mersin, also called the “Tigers.” In a statement on his social media account, Minister Yerlikaya provided details about the operation conducted by the Mersin Police Department.

A total of 33 addresses were searched during the operation, leading to the arrest of 22 suspects. Out of these, 15 were formally arrested while 7 were placed under judicial control. Minister Yerlikaya highlighted that the suspects were involved in various criminal activities, including armed threats, weapon trafficking, qualified looting, and other illegal activities under law no. 6136.

During the operation, law enforcement officers confiscated 7 unlicensed pistols, drugs, and a significant amount of cutting and piercing tools, as well as digital materials. The successful operation serves as a significant blow to the criminal organization and a step towards ensuring the safety and security of the citizens in Mersin.
