TİKA Supports Preschool Education in 10 Colombian Schools

Turkish Ambassador to Bogota Beste Pehlivan Sun, together with Bucaramanga Mayor Jaime Andres Beltran, recently attended the opening of new classes in Colombia. These classes were established as part of a project in collaboration with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and Bucaramanga Municipality.

During the opening ceremony, Mayor Beltran emphasized the importance of providing safe and high-quality educational environments for children. He expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Turkey and TIKA for their valuable contribution, stating that these new classes bring hope not only to children but also to families.

The project, which aligns with the criteria of the Ministry of National Education, involved the opening of 10 preschool education classes in public schools across Bucaramanga. For the first time in the city, 4-year-old children will be included in education in public schools through this initiative. The goal is to provide education for 200 children each period, benefitting over 1000 families in a five-year period.

This project, led by TIKA, serves as a pilot application that will pave the way for additional classes in the city. By increasing the quality of life for children and working parents, the project aims to enhance social welfare and facilitate the involvement of parents who may struggle to support their children.

Overall, this collaborative effort between Turkey, TIKA, and Bucaramanga Municipality signifies a significant step towards improving access to education and creating a brighter future for the children of Colombia.
