Tisza Party Sees Significant Growth in Latest Poll by Fidesz-Aligned Research Group

The ruling Fidesz-Christian Democrats continue to maintain strong support among voters, with 45 percent favoring the alliance, according to the latest poll by the Nézőpont Institute. This is despite an increase in backing for the opposition Tisza Party, which now stands at 35 percent since the European parliamentary elections in June.

On the other hand, support for the leftist Democratic Coalition (DK) has fallen to 6 percent, the radical Our Homeland to 5 percent, and Momentum to 3 percent over the past three months, the poll shows. If general elections were held today, Fidesz would emerge as the clear winner, with approximately 2.5 million active voters among all voting age adults.

The Tisza Party, with close to 2 million active voters and 170,000 reserve supporters, is also making gains in popularity. According to Point of view, only Fidesz-KDNP, the Tisza Party, DK, and Our Homeland would surpass the 5-percent threshold to form a four-party parliament if elections were held this Sunday.

Péter Hungarian, the leader of the Tisza Party, has been vocal about his party’s popularity, claiming around 39% support but recognizing that Fidesz is still in the lead. As the political landscape in Hungary evolves, it will be interesting to see how these trends continue to shape the country’s future.
