TOGEM-DER Hosts Special Event for Old Couples on Valentine’s Day
On February 14th, TOGEM-DER, under the leadership of Emine Erdoğan, the Honorary President of the Social Development Center Education and Social Solidarity Association, organized a heartwarming event in honor of Valentine’s Day. The event took place at the Bağcılar Municipality Kirazlıbent Nature Park and Recreation Area, where a breakfast program was held for the attendees.
A total of 10 pairs of elderly couples from the Bağcılar Municipality Vitual Life Center were invited to partake in the special event. Togem-Der Chairman Av. M. Belma Sekmen expressed the importance of celebrating love not just on one day, but throughout the year. He emphasized the significance of family, unity, hard work, and age in the context of Valentine’s Day.
The couples enjoyed their time in the serene and green surroundings, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. They shared stories, memories, and perspectives on marriage and family life. The event served as a platform to pass on these values to future generations, promoting unity, sharing, and happiness.
Sibel Betül, a member of the Bağcılar Municipality Assembly and Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, praised the event as a beautiful initiative on a special day. The couples bonded over conversations by the fire and engaged in heartfelt exchanges, creating lasting memories.
