“Togg gaining intense interest in hometown Yalova”
Turkey’s Minister of Industry and Technology, Mustafa Varank, traveled to Yalova with Turkey’s car TOGG. Upon arriving, Minister Varank was welcomed by members of the provincial protocol, including Yalova Mayor Tutuk and AK Party Yalova deputies Ahmet Büyükgümüş, Meliha Akyol, and Yalova deputy candidate Erhan Dede. The group traveled to July 15 Democracy and Republic Square, but due to a stampede on the road, the 2-minute journey took approximately 45 minutes.
In his speech at the square, Minister Varank criticized the opposition and their constant criticism of the TOGG project. He reminded listeners that when the AK Party announced they would build Turkey’s automobile, the opposition doubted their ability to do so. They continued to doubt when the construction of the factory began, and when the cars started to be produced, they doubted who would buy them. However, the people of Turkey eagerly pre-ordered the cars, only for the opposition to question their origin and accuse the AK Party of deceiving them.
Minister Varank also spoke out against the opposition’s desire for a coalition government, reminding listeners of the difficult times Turkey faced during those periods and the prevalence of terrorism when the opposition was in power. He stressed the need for strong support for the AK Party and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to keep Turkey afloat amidst the current global turbulence.
Minister Varank also criticized the opposition for their willingness to negotiate with terrorist organizations like the PKK and FETO, saying that they trust and talk to Kılıçdaroğlu, the leader of the opposition Republican People’s Party. He urged the people of Yalova to stand up against terrorism and make a careful choice in the upcoming elections.
During his visit, Minister Varank also emphasized the potential for Yalova to develop in multiple sectors, from industry and agriculture to tourism and transportation. He pledged to work with Yalova deputies to help the province realize its potential and grow alongside its neighboring province, Bursa.
