Top Hungarian University Ranked Among Top Global Institutions

Péter Pach Pál, a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Computer Science and Information Theory at BME VIK, one of Hungary’s top universities, has been awarded the prestigious Frontiers of Science Award (FSA).

Pach received this honor at the International Congress of Basic Sciences (ICBS) held at the Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications (BIMSA) campus for his 2016 paper co-authored with Ernie Croot from the Georgia Institute of Technology and Vsevolod Lev from the University of Haifa.

The list of this year’s winners includes names from renowned institutions such as Princeton, MIT, Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, and major Chinese universities. Notably, alongside these esteemed institutions, a Hungarian university was listed. The only other regional representative on the list is the University of Grodno in Belarus.

The FSA is granted to exceptional articles in specific fields of mathematics, computer science, and physics over the past decade. Pach was recognized in the field of combinatorics. The scientific organizing committee of the ICBS conference, which includes distinguished mathematicians like Shing-Tung Yau and Caucher Birkar, both Fields Prize winners, acknowledged his remarkable work.

This achievement highlights the excellence of Hungarian researchers and the significant contributions they make to the global academic community. Congratulations to Péter Pach Pál on this well-deserved recognition.
