Ford Continues Dominance in Hungarian Commercial Vehicle Market
Ford has extended its remarkable 15-year streak as the leader in the Hungarian commercial vehicle market, with a total of 9,253 new vehicles sold in 2024, capturing a significant 27 percent share, according to a press release from Ford Hungary.
The American brand has showcased strength across all segments of the market, with a total of 14,128 new Ford vehicles sold in Hungary in 2024, resulting in a market share of 9.3 percent. Ford Pro, the manufacturer’s commercial vehicle business, experienced a remarkable annual share growth of 2.7 percentage points, which includes one- and two-ton commercial vehicle-based passenger vehicles. The success has been attributed to the ability of the renewed model portfolio to meet the diverse needs of customers in all segments and size categories.
Notably, Ford’s share of hybrid commercial vehicle sales in Hungary stands at nearly 68 percent, while its share of electric commercial vehicle sales is at 16.47 percent. The electric commercial vehicle sales surged by 132 percent compared to the previous year.
The standout model for 2024 was the Ford Transit Custom, dominating the one-ton van segment with 3,064 new registrations and commanding a substantial 57.5 percent share, as highlighted by the release.
In the fleet market, Ford reported 12,741 new registrations, marking a significant 28 percent year-on-year increase and granting the brand an 11.5 percent share in this segment.
Additionally, Ford’s passenger car business, represented by Ford Blue and Model E, also saw strong performance in 2024. With 4,875 new car registrations and a 4.1 percent market share in Hungary, the brand recorded an annual volume growth exceeding 47 percent, surpassing the 14 percent growth of the overall passenger car market. The year also saw the introduction of seven new or updated models to the passenger car range.
The continuous success of Ford in the Hungarian market further solidifies its position as a frontrunner in the commercial and passenger vehicle segments, showcasing its commitment to innovation and customer-centric offerings.
