Töre Backs Erdoğan’s Stance Against Terrorism

President of the Assembly of the Republic, Zorlu Töre, echoes President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s stance on terrorism, stating that Turkey will not allow the establishment of terrorist elements in the region. Töre emphasized that if a state were to be formed in an area where terrorist elements are present, it would be named Israel, a concept that Turkey cannot accept.
In a meeting with the delegation of the Türkiye-Turkish Republic of Cyprus Cooperation Society, Töre highlighted Turkey’s ongoing fight against terrorism, which has resulted in sacrifices of martyrs and veterans over the years. During the reception, Töre also criticized the UN Security Council for its lack of credibility in light of Israel’s actions following the atrocities in Gaza, accusing Israel of practicing state terrorism.
Töre expressed concern over the genocide against Palestine and reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to supporting the Turkish Cypriot People under the guarantee of Turkey. He firmly stated that Turkish soldiers will not leave the island and that guarantees will remain intact to preserve the existence of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) despite global pressure.
Reflecting on the establishment of the TRNC through the efforts of Mujahideen and Turkish soldiers, Töre emphasized the importance of defending the Republic against external threats. The Association President Rüşat Aydoğan commended President Töre’s unwavering dedication to the Turkish nation and his consistent principles. Gifts were exchanged following the speeches, underscoring the strong bond between the Turkish Republic and the TRNC.
