Töre Hosts Paphos Turkish Union Board of Directors Delegation
The President of the Assembly of the Republic, Zorlu Töre, recently received a delegation from the Paphos Turkish Union Board of Directors. The delegation was headed by Cenk Dökmen.
During the reception in the Assembly Hall of Honor, Paphos Turkish Union President Cenk Dökmen emphasized the union’s rich history and its significance in the national cause. He also expressed the desire to present the work carried out by the new administration during the visit.
In his speech, President Zorlu Töre acknowledged the importance of the resistance exhibited in Paphos, stating that it holds a significant place in Turkish Cypriot history. He emphasized the need to remember the heroism displayed in Paphos, as an understanding of history is crucial in shaping the future with confidence.
Töre also highlighted the title “Gazi Paphos” and the significance of passing on the legacy of resistance to future generations. He pledged to support martyrs, veterans, and the history of struggle during his term as Speaker of the Parliament, emphasizing the security and statehood that they now enjoy.
Furthermore, Töre affirmed the commitment to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), emphasizing their dedication to preserving the spirit of the Turkish Resistance organization and not abandoning Turkey and the Turkish army.
