President Zorlu Töre Holds Meetings in Denizli

President Zorlu Töre, the President of the Assembly of the Republic, recently attended a discussion titled “A View of the Turkish World from the Young Homeland” organized by the Turkish Hearths Association in Denizli. The event was also attended by Cyprus veterans residing in Denizli, and during the discussion, President Töre was honored with the “service award to the Turkish world”. TRNC Consul General in Izmir Ayşen Volkan İnanıroğlu also participated in the interview.

In his speech, President Töre expressed his satisfaction with being in Denizli and getting to know the people of the city. He highlighted Denizli’s economic development and cultural values, stating that the city is on its way to becoming a recognized brand. President Töre also emphasized the significance of every corner of the homeland, stating that they always feel at home.

President Töre further emphasized that Turkish Cypriots are an integral part of the Turkish nation and that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is the state of all those belonging to the Turkish world. He also addressed the challenges faced by Turkish Cypriots, stating that the only assurance they have is the support of Motherland Turkey and the Turkish Armed Forces. President Töre expressed concern that certain groups are attempting to remove the military from the island and damage relations with Turkey. He called for vigilance in protecting the unity and vitality of the Turkish nation.

President Töre also criticized the attitude of the UN Security Council and some international organizations towards Israel’s attacks on Gaza. He highlighted the failure of the UN to fulfill its mission in protecting Turkish Cypriots during attacks on the island. President Töre mentioned President Erdoğan’s statement “The world is bigger than five” and emphasized the importance of a strong Turkish Union in the face of evolving international diplomacy.

During his visit to Denizli, President Töre paid his respects at the martyrs’ cemetery and the graves of Cyprus veterans in Asri Cemetery. He placed flowers on the graves and joined in prayers conducted by religious officials. President Töre also visited Denizli Chamber of Commerce, where he met with Chamber President Uğur Erdoğan and received information about commercial activities in the province. Additionally, the President visited the Buldan district of Denizli, accompanied by District Governor Turan Erdoğan and District Mayor Mustafa Şevik.

President Zorlu Töre is expected to conclude his meetings in Denizli and return to the country via Antalya tomorrow.
