Heavy Rain Causes Flooding and Disruption in Selim District
The Selim district experienced heavy rain, which had been on and off throughout the day, and this intensified in the evening. The continuous downpour resulted in various consequences, including clogged manholes and flooded streets.
As the rain poured heavily, some of the district’s manholes became blocked, leading to water accumulating on the streets. This caused inconvenience for both pedestrians and motorists, who had to navigate through the water-filled roads. In an attempt to prevent their workplaces from flooding, some traders made efforts to open the clogged manhole covers. Meanwhile, some citizens sought shelter at bus stops to protect themselves from the heavy downpour.
Following the rain, a picturesque rainbow appeared in the district, offering a spectacle to those who braved the weather conditions. Despite the beauty of the rainbow, drivers still had to exercise caution and proceed carefully due to the prevailing downpour.
In a separate incident, lightning struck a poplar tree in Büyük Oluklu village of the Selim district, highlighting the unpredictability and power of nature. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with this incident.
