
Tourism Week Celebrated with Feast in Famagusta – BRTK

The Tourism Week celebration took place in Famagusta from April 15th to 22nd, with a Tourism Feast attended by the Deputy Prime Minister, Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment. The event, organized with the support of Famagusta Municipality, began with a vibrant procession that started from the watery circle and made its way to Namık Kemal Square, where speeches were delivered.
During the event, the Ministry of Art Advisor Soyhan Bilgeer provided details about the program and expressed gratitude to all those who contributed. Famagusta Mayor Süleyman Uluçay praised the Deputy Prime Minister for his ongoing commitment to the city’s tourism potential.
In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Fikri Ataoğlu highlighted the importance of preserving culture and art for future generations. He emphasized the rich cultural heritage of Cyprus and urged the Turkish Cypriot community to safeguard their culture. Minister Ataoğlu also expressed appreciation to everyone involved in the organization of the event.
As part of the festivities, a Kite Painting Event for children was organized by designer İnci Arkan in collaboration with the Champion Angels Association. Ruşen Karakaya, President of the Champion Angels Association, and designer İnci Arkan both mentioned that the kites flown during the event symbolized a pursuit of justice.
The celebration showcased the unity and cultural richness of Cyprus, emphasizing the importance of passing down traditions to the younger generations.
