Tourist files complaint after being charged exorbitant price for pomegranate juice in Antalya
A tourist in Antalya was shocked when he was asked to pay 1,200 TL for two glasses of pomegranate juice, which should have cost only 200 TL. The incident took place on the Konyaaltı coast approximately 1.5 months ago, and it quickly caught the attention of the authorities.
After the tourist filed a complaint, the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality municipal police teams and the regular police were called to the scene. The police instructed the business owners to return the money to the tourist. The business manager took back the 1,200 TL from the employee and refunded the correct amount to the tourist.
Following the incident, a report was filed against the business, leading to the removal of the stand selling ice cream and fruit juice from its location. Additionally, the business released a statement explaining that the sale was made by a new employee without approval, the mistake was rectified, the money was returned, and the employee responsible for the error was dismissed on the same day.
The incident serves as a reminder to always be vigilant and check the prices before making a purchase, especially in tourist areas where scams can occur. It also highlights the importance of businesses maintaining ethical standards and taking appropriate action in the event of a mistake.
