Toys Abandoned Outside Israeli Consulate General
Children of the Earth Association Protest Israeli Attacks on Gaza Hospital, Holds Vigil at Consulate General
Children of the Earth Association organized a protest in front of the Israeli Consulate General in Levent, Istanbul, to condemn Israel’s targeting of Al-Ahli Babtist Hospital in Gaza and the resulting deaths. The activists gathered at 17:00, holding banners and leaving toys in front of the consulate to symbolize the innocent lives lost. Two individuals even brought toys in coffins as a somber reminder of the tragic consequences of the attacks.
Sümeyye Altun, President of the Children of the Earth Association, delivered a press release on behalf of the group, stating, “As NGOs working for the rights of children, we have come together today to amplify the voices of the children who have been massacred by Occupied Israel in Gaza. We want to make it known to the world that these toys represent the victims of Israeli aggression.” Altun further expressed the urgent need to end the ongoing genocide and called for global action and sanctions against Israel.
Altun emphasized the devastating impact of Israel’s attacks, stating, “Since October 7, Israel has murdered 1,524 children in front of the entire world. These numbers are not just statistics; they represent real children, brothers, and friends. If even a single hair on our children’s heads was harmed, we would demand justice. It is time for the world to stand up for the thousands of children killed in Gaza. How many more innocent lives must be lost before action is taken?”
During the protest, toys were left in front of the consulate to draw attention to the tragic loss of innocent lives. Additionally, two individuals brought a coffin-shaped box and a toy, symbolizing the devastating impact of the attacks. These toys will be sent to children in the earthquake zone as a gesture of support and solidarity.
The Children of the Earth Association’s vigil serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing violence in Gaza and the pressing need for international intervention to protect the lives of innocent children. It highlights the importance of raising awareness and advocating for justice in the face of such atrocities.
