Temporary Service Building of TPAO Şırnak Regional Directorate Officially Inaugurated
In a recent development, the temporary service building of TPAO Şırnak Regional Directorate has been officially opened. The General Manager of TPAO, Melih Han Bilgin, shared this exciting news during an interview with İhlas News Agency (İHA). Bilgin revealed that currently, the company is producing 25 thousand barrels of oil per day from its 10 active wells.
With the aim of expanding its operations and manpower, TPAO has decided to establish the Şırnak Regional Directorate on a more permanent basis. As Bilgin mentioned, approximately 70 personnel are currently employed at the regional directorate. Moreover, the total oil production from the Gabar project has reached 25 thousand barrels, and the company plans to achieve even more by the end of the year.
Bilgin expressed TPAO’s ambitious goals for the future, stating, “We are working intensively to reach 35 thousand barrels by the end of next year, and our long-term objective is 100 thousand barrels.” The company’s determination is evident in the fact that they currently have 10 active drilling rigs operating in Şırnak province.
To further expand their drilling activities, TPAO plans to increase the number of active drilling rigs to 14 in the near future. Considering that each rig employs an average of 50 to 60 people, this expansion would create approximately 600-700 job opportunities in the drilling sector of Gabar oil.
The dispatch and management of these operations will be handled by the Şırnak Regional Directorate of TPAO, where the opening ceremony took place. In attendance were esteemed guests including Şırnak Governor Cevdet Atay, Şırnak Mayor Mehmet Yarka, Şırnak Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General Murat Bulut, as well as representatives from political parties and non-governmental organizations.
This recent development not only signifies progress and growth for TPAO and the oil industry but also promises economic benefits for the Şırnak province and its people.
