Traffic Chaos Expected in Budapest as Popular Bridge Closes for 40 Days
Authorities in Budapest have closed one lane in the Pest direction of the Árpád Bridge due to compulsory renovation. The closure is expected to last for 40 days, causing potential traffic delays in the area.
The renovation project, as reported by infostart.hu, is necessary for the exchange of the bridge’s dilatation structure. While two lanes will remain open for traffic, a speed restriction of 30 km/h will be in place. Additionally, between the hours of 10 PM and 5 AM, another lane will be closed in the Pest direction after the Margaret Bridge exit.
Despite the construction work, public transport vehicles will continue to operate according to their regular timetables. This decision aims to minimize disruptions for commuters during this period.
