Accident on D-130 Highway in İzmit Causes Traffic Disruption
An unfortunate accident took place on the D-130 Highway in the direction of Başiskele, Serdar Mahallesi in İzmit. According to reports, a tow truck loaded with brand new vehicles and with license plates 41 AJG 315 was hit from behind by a Peugeot light commercial vehicle with license plates 34 DA 9939, both traveling in the same direction.
The impact was so severe that both vehicles crashed into the median and overturned. The new car being transported on the tow truck also rolled over as a result. Witnesses of the accident immediately reported the incident to the 112 Emergency Call Center, prompting the dispatch of health and police teams to the scene.
Four individuals sustained injuries in the accident and were promptly treated by emergency medical services before being transported to nearby hospitals. Furthermore, due to the collision, traffic on the D-130 Highway in the Izmit direction came to a halt. To ensure safe passage, the police gradually reopened the road to traffic after conducting necessary checks.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the accident to determine the exact cause and hold responsible parties accountable for the incident.
