Traffic Flow to Improve Within 15 Days, Says BRTK
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport and Değirmenlik Akıncılar Municipality Join Forces to Improve Traffic Flow at Ercan Airport
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport and Değirmenlik Akıncılar Municipality have teamed up to regulate vehicle traffic outside the Ercan Airport arrivals terminal. Today, Enver Öztürk, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and Ali Karavezirler, Mayor of Değirmenlik Akıncılar Municipality, along with relevant department managers and technical teams, conducted an inspection of the areas where the arrangement will be implemented at Ercan Airport.
After the inspection, Undersecretary Öztürk and Mayor Karavezirler addressed the press to share their plans for improving the traffic situation at the airport. Undersecretary Öztürk highlighted the successful operation of the new terminal building and runway at Ercan Airport, emphasizing the importance of passenger safety and comfort both inside and outside the aircraft. He acknowledged the challenges faced by passengers due to traffic congestion outside the arrival terminal and expressed the commitment to work with the Municipality to find a solution.
Mayor Karavezirler echoed the sentiment, mentioning the previous traffic issues at the old Ercan Airport and the collaborative efforts to address them. He expressed confidence in resolving the current traffic problem within 15 days, with a focus on improving the flow of vehicles outside the arrivals terminal. The Mayor also mentioned plans to increase police presence, reorganize taxi services, and utilize the parking area more effectively to alleviate congestion.
