Tragedy in Avcılar: One Life Lost in Escalating Conflict
A tragic incident unfolded in Istanbul’s Avcılar district, as a Moroccan and US citizen named Darwich Nassim turned a side road of the E5 Highway into a war zone. The chaotic scene began when Nassim stole a jeep from a gallery in Cihangir District and proceeded to crash into 14 vehicles along the D-100 side road.
Despite the efforts of citizens trying to stop him, Nassim continued his reckless rampage, eventually causing the death of Yıldıray Erol, who was injured in the accident. The suspect was later apprehended by police in Yenibosna.
Nassim, who entered Turkey on August 8, was charged with “intentional murder” and subsequently arrested and taken into custody. The security camera footage from the gallery captured the chilling moments when Nassim stole the jeep, showcasing the brazen act of theft.
