Tragedy Strikes as Boat Carrying Illegal Immigrants Sinks off Ayvacık, Resulting in Numerous Fatalities and Injuries
Coast Guard teams from the Northern Aegean Group Command sprang into action after receiving a report of a rubber boat carrying irregular immigrants off the coast of Ayvacık.
The teams managed to rescue 25 people from the rubber boat, with initial findings indicating that 5 individuals had already reached the land.
Following the rescue operation, the irregular immigrants were handed over to medical teams on site and later transported to hospitals in Balıkesir and Çanakkale.
The Coast Guard teams are continuing their efforts to ensure the safety and security of the region.
