Tragic Accident in Erzincan: Car Collides with Herd, Resulting in 17 Sheep Deaths and 6 Injuries
A tragic accident occurred in Erzincan when a car collided with a herd of sheep, resulting in the death of 17 sheep and injuries to 6 individuals in the vehicle.
The incident took place at the exit of Mercan town when a car with license plate 24 AAF 457, driven by Mehmet G, struck the sheep belonging to M.T. as they were crossing the road. As a result, 17 sheep lost their lives, and the driver along with passengers HG, FG, OG, SG, and FS sustained injuries.
Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, and the injured individuals were promptly transported to Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University Mengücek Gazi Training and Research Hospital for treatment.
Gendarmerie teams were also deployed to the area to maintain security measures and ensure the safety of the road. Following the necessary cleaning work, the road, which had been temporarily closed, was reopened to traffic in a controlled manner.
