A tragic incident occurred in the Alaşehir district of Manisa, where two 12-year-old cousins lost their lives while riding their bicycles. Yusuf Eyüp Kaya and his cousin Kadir Kaya, residents of Caberburhan District, were out for a leisurely bike ride when they encountered a deep puddle near a marble quarry.
Yusuf Eyüp Kaya accidentally fell into the two-meter deep puddle, and in a heroic attempt, his cousin Kadir Kaya tried to rescue him but unfortunately, both boys drowned.
The surrounding people quickly alerted the authorities, and teams from AFAD, the fire brigade, health services, and the gendarmerie rushed to the scene. Despite the efforts of the rescue teams, it was determined that the children had tragically lost their lives. Their bodies were taken to the morgue of Alaşehir State Hospital.
Zeki Kaya, the father of Yusuf Eyüp Kaya, expressed his grief over the incident, stating that his son fell into the water while riding his bike, and his nephew Kadir Kaya drowned while trying to save him.
The gendarmerie has initiated an investigation into the heartbreaking incident to determine the circumstances that led to the tragic deaths of these two young cousins.
