ADANA — A serious chain accident involving three vehicles occurred late last night on the Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep (TAG) motorway, near the Yildirim Beyazit neighborhood in the Sarıçam district. The incident began when a car driven by Mustafa E. was reportedly hit from behind by a jeep operated by Abdulkadir C., which was then impacted by a truck loaded with bananas driven by Latif S.
The collision ignited a fire that quickly engulfed both Mustafa E.’s vehicle and the truck’s trailer. Fortunately, other motorists who witnessed the event acted promptly, assisting in the rescue of the injured occupants from the burning car. Mustafa E. and his passenger, Hatice O., sustained minor injuries and were swiftly transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Emergency services, including firefighters, medical personnel, and gendarmerie teams, were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters battled the flames for approximately thirty minutes before bringing the fire under control. By the end of the incident, Mustafa E.’s car had been reduced to a charred shell, while the truck’s trailer was rendered unusable.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident, aiming to determine the precise factors that led to this dangerous situation.
