Tragic Chain of Events: 3 Family Members Killed in Niğde
A tragic accident occurred on the D-750 highway between Pozantı and Ulukışla, involving three vehicles. The car with plate number 01 PF 509, driven by Mehmet Yaşar Kılınç (66), the truck with plate number 01 Y 2868, driven by HK, and the truck with plate number 20 LJ 016, driven by Ü.Ç., collided in the Darboğaz location, resulting in several casualties.
Upon receiving the alert, various emergency response teams, including gendarmerie, AFAD, fire brigade, and medical teams, rushed to the scene of the accident to provide assistance. Tragically, the driver of the car, Kılınç, his wife Vesile (57), and daughter Ebru Kılınç (29) lost their lives in the collision. Eymen and Ekim Kılınç, who were also in the car, sustained serious injuries, along with the truck driver and another passenger, who were immediately taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
The bodies of the deceased were transferred to the morgue of Ulukışla State Hospital, while Niğde Governor Cahit Çelik arrived at the accident site accompanied by Provincial Police Chief Adnan Özdemir to assess the situation. Governor Çelik expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured individuals.
According to Governor Çelik, four injured individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, with two of them being in critical condition. He mentioned that immediate action was taken by directing the necessary authorities to the scene and confirmed that the road closure due to the accident had been resolved, allowing traffic to resume.
