Tragic Fire in Konya Market Claims Life of 5-Year-Old Muhammad
A tragic incident occurred in Aksehir Yenimahalle on Cumhuriyet Boulevard at 22.00, when a 4-storey apartment building caught fire on the ground floor. Alpay Örgün, who was coming up from the market, saw the flames and immediately jumped into the apartment. Upon arriving at the scene, a large number of firefighters, health, and police teams were present to assist.
The firefighters who arrived at the scene discovered the lifeless body of Alpay Örgün’s son, Muhammad Kaan Örgün, who was trapped in the market during the fire. Alpay, his wife Selma (46), and their children Poyraz Ali (8) and Batuhan Örgün (20) were all affected by the smoke, and firefighter Ramazan İçel injured his hand during the rescue operation. They were all rushed to Akşehir State Hospital by medical teams for treatment.
Initial investigations have revealed that the fire was caused by an electrical contact, prompting authorities to launch a thorough investigation into the incident.
In the midst of this tragedy, it serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and the need for everyone to be vigilant in preventing such devastating events.
