Tragic incident in Mardin: Installation expert trapped underground during unauthorized sewage excavation
A tragic incident occurred in the Kızıltepe district of Mardin, resulting in the loss of Vedat Ozan’s life. The 26-year-old man was working on unauthorized sewage excavation when he became trapped under floating soil.
The incident took place at around 4:00 PM in Mesopotamia neighborhood of Kızıltepe. It is reported that Vedat Ozan, who was an installation master, was working on land recording when the accident happened. People in the vicinity quickly came together to try and rescue Ozan. Emergency services including AFAD, fire brigade, health, and police teams were called to the scene.
Firefighters and AFAD teams worked tirelessly to free Vedat Ozan from under the ground. Sadly, despite their efforts, Ozan did not survive the ordeal. His body was taken to Kızıltepe State Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the incident.
