Tragic Loss: Erzurum Metropolitan Mayor Mehmet Sekmen’s Father Passes Away
Ahmet Sekmen, the father of Erzurum Mayor Mehmet Sekmen, passed away at the age of 87 after battling an illness in Istanbul. His funeral will take place tomorrow at the Cevizli Repairment Mosque in the Kartal district of Istanbul following the afternoon prayer. After the funeral prayer, he will be laid to rest in the Central Cemetery.
In a heartfelt message shared on his social media account, Sekmen expressed his grief by saying, “Our family has lost a true patriarch, our dear father Hacı Ahmet Sekmen. He was a man of integrity, faith, hard work, and honesty. May he rest in paradise.”
Upon hearing the news, AK Party Erzurum Provincial Chairman Ibrahim Kucukoglu extended his condolences to Mayor Sekmen and his family, stating, “I offer my deepest condolences on the passing of Mayor Sekmen’s father, Ahmet Sekmen. May he rest in peace.”
