Tragic Loss: They Died While Helping
A Tragic Accident on the Northern Marmara Highway Claims 10 Lives
Yesterday at around 04.45 in the Taşkısığı location of the Sakarya section of the Northern Marmara Highway, a tragic accident occurred. The region was affected by dense fog, resulting in a chain accident involving 7 vehicles, including 3 buses and a truck. As a result, 10 people lost their lives in the traffic accident, and 61 people were injured, 8 of them seriously, including 2 Ukrainians and one from Uzbekistan.
7 drivers were detained as part of the investigation into the incident. Their procedures were completed at Adapazarı District Gendarmerie Command, and they were sent to the courthouse. It was a devastating day for the community, and the pain was made worse by the tragic loss of three individuals who lost their lives while trying to help others.
The victims–Sedat Değirmenci, Ergin Çınar, and Adem Akyol–were part of an assembly team in the furniture industry in Istanbul. They encountered the accident on their return to Istanbul and went to the scene to help. However, they lost their lives when they were run over by a bus. Their family and friends are grieving for the loss of three kind-hearted individuals who were always willing to lend a helping hand.
Selahattin Şahan, a relative of the victims, expressed profound sadness and said, “We are grieving for the loss of our 3 friends. While our friends were returning from the city where they went for furniture assembly, they ran to help the injured in the vehicles that crashed, but a bus hit both our friends and the accident. “He dived into the people getting out of the vehicle. There was no damage to the vehicle that our friends pulled to the side of the road, but unfortunately they lost their lives at the scene where they ran to do good. May they rest in peace.”
The entire community is mourning the loss of lives in this tragic accident and extending their heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
