Tragedy in Kütürüp: Car Plunges off Cliff, Mother Killed
A devastating accident occurred in the Kütürüp area of Sugözü Neighborhood, when a car driven by Emre Alıcı suddenly started to move while parked on the edge of a cliff. The vehicle rolled off the cliff with Esma Alıcı and her daughter Fatma Ela Alıcı inside, coming to a stop on construction materials below.
Upon receiving a notification from driver Alıcı, emergency health and police teams rushed to the scene. Tragically, the medical team discovered that mother Esma Alıcı had lost her life in the accident. Her daughter, Fatma Ela Alıcı, sustained injuries and was promptly transported to the hospital via ambulance.
Following the incident, Esma Alıcı’s body was transferred to the Alanya Forensic Medicine morgue, while a thorough investigation into the accident was initiated by the public prosecutor. Emre Alıcı, the father, revealed to authorities that he was outside the vehicle at the time of the incident and attempted to engage the handbrake to prevent the car’s movement, but was unsuccessful.
This heartbreaking event serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of life and the importance of safety precautions when around cliffs or steep terrain. Our thoughts are with the Alıcı family during this difficult time.
