Sivas Tragedy: Two Brothers Found Murdered in Their Home
In a shocking incident late Tuesday night, Anne A.Ş. returned home to a horrific scene on the 12th floor of the Idil Apartment, located on 58th Street in the Guide District. Upon entering his residence, he discovered his children, Umutcan and Melisa Şimşek, brutally murdered.
Gruesome Discovery
The two siblings were found with their hands bound by plastic handcuffs and their throats cut. Authorities were summoned immediately, and crime scene investigation teams launched a thorough investigation into the chilling murders. Following the examinations conducted by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the bodies of Umutcan and Melisa were taken to the morgue at Sivas Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Medicine Hospital for autopsy.
Ongoing Investigation
As the investigation continued, police reviewed security camera footage from the building. Around 5:00 PM the same day, they identified a masked suspect trying to conceal their identity with glasses and a hat. Witnesses later reported seeing an individual with a bag leaving the premises around 10:00 PM, prompting law enforcement to intensify their search for the suspect.

The Sivas Governor’s Office issued a statement addressing the incident, emphasizing the urgency to capture those responsible. The Governor assured the public that the Sivas Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office was coordinating efforts with the Provincial Police Department to ensure a meticulous investigation.
