Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya Warns About Traffic Accidents
Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya recently took to his social media account to address the concerning issue of traffic accidents in the country. He emphasized that the Police and Gendarmerie traffic teams are working tirelessly to ensure road safety.
Yerlikaya revealed that a total of 726 traffic accidents occurred yesterday, resulting in the tragic loss of 11 lives and injuries to 1,295 individuals. Additionally, he disclosed that 289,700 vehicles were inspected during this period, with speed and radar procedures being applied to 18,889 vehicles, and traffic operations carried out on 17,227 vehicles.
Furthermore, the Minister shared the alarming statistics that 16 people had lost their lives and 2,716 citizens were injured in accidents that occurred within the first two days of the holiday period. Yerlikaya urged the public to exercise caution on the roads, reminding them to adhere to traffic rules, wear seat belts, and avoid speeding.
