According to reports from 444.hu, the accident took place on Friday at the Újdörögd training ground, where a government official was seriously injured while her trainer suffered minor injuries.

During the training session, which involved a live grenade-throwing exercise, one of the devices exploded in the hand of the government official, causing severe injuries. She underwent emergency surgery at the Honvéd Hospital in Budapest and is currently in stable condition.

Major General Zoltán Somogyi, chief of staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces, mentioned that the accident could be attributed to a momentary loss of confidence or a technical fault in the grenade device.
