In a shocking incident that took place in Sarıyer İstinye, Istanbul, a man killed his wife, mother-in-law, and then himself. The incident occurred at around 19:00 in a residential complex.
According to the available information, Erdal Şahin, 46, had an argument with his wife Nazlı Şahin, 39, and his mother-in-law Salime Şahin, 57, after returning home in the evening. As the argument escalated, Erdal Şahin became mentally unstable and used a hunting rifle to shoot his wife and mother-in-law. He then took his own life by shooting himself in the chin.
The incident came to light when Murat Y., the brother of Erdal Şahin, could not reach him and decided to visit his house. Upon entering the house through an open window, Murat Y. was shocked to discover the horrifying scene. He immediately contacted the authorities, and health, police, and fire crews arrived at the site without delay. Medical teams confirmed the deaths of all three individuals. Following the medical examinations, crime scene investigators spent a significant amount of time at the scene gathering evidence.
The shotgun and its casings were carefully collected as evidence for further examination. The bodies of the victims were transported to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue in Bahçelievler Yenibosna via a funeral vehicle.
