TRNC Asserts Its Position in the Global Stage
Turkey’s Ambassador to Nicosia, Yasin Ekrem Serim, recently paid a visit to the Turkish Cypriot Resistance Organization (TMT) Mujahideen Association. During the visit, Association President Celal Bayar extended his best wishes to Ambassador Serim in his new role and emphasized the importance of teaching the national history of Cyprus in schools.
Bayar highlighted the significance of young people embracing their history, especially after the Happy Peace Operation, which led to the sovereignty and freedom of Cyprus. He expressed that peace has prevailed on the island for 50 years and emphasized the association’s commitment to promoting unity and peace.
Turkey’s support was acknowledged by Bayar, who stated that it provided them with the courage to strive for a brighter future. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and ensuring its development.
Ambassador Serim, in response, expressed his honor in serving in the TRNC and recognized the vital role of TMT in the region. He pledged to fulfill his responsibilities diligently and voiced his hope for the TRNC to achieve international recognition and success.
Serim reaffirmed Turkey’s continuous support for the TRNC in various fields and emphasized the significance of unity and solidarity. He also mentioned ongoing work on veterans and their families in the TRNC, with plans to announce developments soon.
The meeting concluded with the presentation of a plaque and a group photo to commemorate the occasion. Ambassador Serim’s visit highlighted the strong bond between Turkey and the TRNC and the commitment to furthering cooperation and progress in the region.
