TRNC Higher Education Fair in Baku: A Success Story
The “TRNC Higher Education Promotion Fair” took place in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, with the aim of showcasing the higher education opportunities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and enhancing educational collaboration between Azerbaijan and the TRNC.
Prior to the fair, a round table meeting was organized with the participation of directors from higher education institutions in the Republic of Azerbaijan and the TRNC, the President of the Higher Education Planning, Supervision, Accreditation, and Coordination Board (YÖDAK), as well as university rectors. The meeting covered various topics such as internationalization, exchange programs, joint scientific projects, accreditation and quality processes, cooperation agreements, and joint diploma programs.
Among the attendees at the TRNC Higher Education Promotion Fair were Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu, Azerbaijani Deputy Hikmet Babaoğlu, TRNC’s Baku Representative Ambassador Ufuk Turganer, YÖDAK President Prof. Dr. Aykut Hodja, ministry officials, university rectors, Turkish Embassy officials in Baku, and students studying in Azerbaijan.
Representatives from 11 universities in the TRNC were present at the fair to showcase educational programs, student opportunities, and scholarship options to fair attendees.
YÖDAK President Prof. Dr. Aykut Hodja emphasized the importance of collaboration in higher education between TRNC and Azerbaijan and expressed his satisfaction with the progress made in this regard. He highlighted the significance of universities in the Turkish world uniting to provide education to students from TRNC, Turkey, and internationally, including those from Azerbaijan.
YÖDAK President Hodja also encouraged children and young people from Azerbaijan to consider pursuing education in the TRNC, emphasizing the benefits of studying in a diverse and academically enriched environment. The fair served as a platform for fostering educational partnerships and strengthening ties between the two countries in the field of higher education.
