
TRNC Presidency Hosts 1st Earthquake Conference on Building Safe Cities

Ruşen Yücesoylu Karakaya, the President of the Champion Angels Association, has made a passionate plea for the construction of solid structures and safe cities that prioritize human life in Turkey. Speaking at the 1st TRNC Presidential Earthquake Conference, Karakaya emphasized the need for radical changes in building safety, control mechanisms, and education to prevent future disasters.
Karakaya recounted the tragic loss of lives in the collapse of the Grand Isias Hotel, where 72 lives were lost in just 17 seconds. He stressed the importance of holding those responsible accountable and fighting for justice to ensure that such negligence does not happen again.
The struggle for justice, according to Karakaya, is not just for the Champion Angels but for society as a whole. He called for a unified effort to prevent future tragedies and to prioritize human life above all else.
