TRNC Tradesmen to Receive 100 Million TL Loan – BRTK

The Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey, Ömer Bolat, has announced a new loan program for TRNC tradesmen. This loan program will provide up to 100 million TL, with a limit of 750 thousand TL per loan. However, this limit can be extended to 1.5 million TL for new investments, machinery and equipment acquisitions, or commercial vehicle renewals.

During his visit to the TRNC, Minister Bolat conducted meetings with various economic organizations, including the Economic Organizations Platform and MUSIAD TRNC. The purpose of these meetings was to discuss ways to support and improve trade, economy, and finance within the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

One of the key initiatives announced by Minister Bolat is the donation of two Mobile X-Ray scanning devices to the customs in Famagusta and Kyrenia. These devices will help streamline customs activities, boost trade in the region, and combat informal trade practices. Additionally, Minister Bolat mentioned plans to provide training and send narcotic dogs to assist in the fight against drug trafficking.

In addition to the loan program and technological support, Minister Bolat highlighted the construction of a 15,000-ton cold storage facility for the production of citrus products in the TRNC. This facility aims to facilitate the marketing and export of TRNC products abroad.

Minister Bolat also met with Abdülkadir Akgül, the President of the Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen Credit and Guarantee Cooperatives Association, to secure the 100 million TL loan for TRNC tradesmen. This loan, subsidized by 50%, will have a total maturity of 3 years with 6-month repayments.

Overall, these initiatives aim to support TRNC tradesmen, boost the local economy, and strengthen trade relations between the TRNC and Turkey. Minister Bolat expressed his commitment to continue standing by the TRNC and providing necessary assistance for economic growth and development.
