TRNC’s Education Island Success: An International Value and Challenge for the Unknown
President Ersin Tatar of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has received the delegation of the International Universities Council. During his speech at the reception, he stressed the importance of security, quality, and sustainability in the island’s economy as well as the goal of improving education and arranging its structure. The president highlighted the need for practices within certain criteria to increase the number of students in TRNC universities. He mentioned that the brand value of universities is essential to the country whose ultimate aim is education. President Tatar added that the success of TRNC as an education island for years is an international value and has a brand value. He noted that the presence of students from 144 different countries in their universities is a challenge to being unknown.
The President emphasized the importance of maintaining the quality of their education system at the highest level, stating that it is crucial to organizing its structure for the continuity of success. He believes that legal regulations based on the workshop’s final declaration will be an essential milestone in the TRNC’s journey as an education island. Tatar expressed his gratitude to the International Universities Council delegation for their work and wished them success.
The workshop on universities planned to be held in their country in September will have significant contributions to these issues, added President Tatar. The President believed that institutions and organizations would contribute to the process as an integral part of the TRNC’s journey as an island of education. The President’s speech emphasized the importance of education for the country’s overall development, and their goal of achieving excellence in education.
