Truck Crash at Tel Aviv Bus Stop Near Mossad Headquarters
A tragic incident occurred near Tel Aviv, the capital of Israel, where approximately 40 people were injured, with at least 6 of them seriously, when a truck hit people waiting at a bus stop.
According to a statement by the Israeli police, the driver of the truck entered the bus stop near Glilot Base while a bus was dropping off passengers and struck the waiting individuals. The driver was subsequently shot and killed by what was described as “armed civilians” in the area.
The Israeli police have labeled the incident as an attack, with an ongoing investigation to uncover more details. However, the family of the driver, Rami Nasrallah, who was of Palestinian origin but an Israeli citizen, claimed that it was not an attack. They stated that Nasrallah had recently undergone heart surgery and that the incident was purely accidental.
Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, a member of the far-right, visited the site and supported the view that it was indeed an attack. He also advocated for the arming of civilians in Israel, praising those who intervened and stopped the dangerous driver.
Medical teams treated the injured individuals, with 37 receiving care at Ichilov Hospital and one person in critical condition fighting for their life. The incident took place near the Glilot headquarters, which is used by the 8200 Unit of the Israeli army and Mossad for intelligence purposes.
